Preventing the spread of communicable diseasePosted by mserio in Untagged |
Did you know that we have stepped up our infection control procedures to help minimize the spread of colds, flus and H1N1? Here at school we have introduced more stringent measures to reduce the spread of virusus. Here are some of the things we are doing: screening children upon arrival and sending them home if symptoms are present; isolating children who show signs of fever and other flu like ailments; sanitizing all cafeteria tables several times per day; using disinfectant wipes on musical instruments and computer keyboards; reminding children to wash their hands and/or use sanitizer; encouraging children to cough or sneeze into their sleeve, not into the air. There are some things you can do to help as well. If your child has a fever and other symptoms, please keep them at home; please train your child how to cough/sneeze if they need to; provide your child with mini hand sanitizer so they can use it as often as they need to; remind them about washing their hands thoroughly. If they hear the message often enough they have a better chance of remembering.
Working together will help us all stay healthy this winter.
Thank you.
