Did you know that in most publicly funded schools in Ontario, students are tested in elementary school for standardized testing only at grade three and grade six? At our school we have been testing grades one through eight each year. What does this do? This provides an accurate assessment of the skill level of students each year. It also allows us to see the change in skill level from one year to the next. Why wait three years to identify a problem or give added attention to an area? According to Dr. Ernest Cheng, Managing director of the Canadian Test Centre, our schools showed “very impressive results. I hope you will share this most positive message when marketing to current and prospective parents.”
Students at Wesley Christian Academy had a casual day on Friday in support of Haiti relief efforts. All funds raised are being sent to assist the victims of the terrible earthquake that devastated Haiti a few weeks ago. On Friday our students raised more than $1800 for relief efforts in Haiti. Thank you one and all for continuing to show us your love in action!
